DALLAS (July 19, 2022) – OpTic Gaming, the entertainment, media, and esports company, announced the organization has fully acquired Botisimo, Inc., a leading cross-platform engagement and monetization tool for streamers, content creators and esports teams. The acquisition is OpTic’s first in the technology space and follows an investment by the organization into Botisimo’s Series A funding in 2021. Botisimo counts more than 30,000 streamers as users of its platform.
“Investing in the tools, content and new technologies that help creators and teams deliver a better experience to viewers on stream is core to our efforts to grow communities around gaming,” said Adam Rymer, CEO of OpTic Gaming. “We believe a major path forward is in diversifying revenue opportunities and deepening our involvement in streaming, just as we’ve done in live events. We look forward to supporting the product development and scalability of what we believe is one of the most powerful tools a creator can use to engage with their audience.”
Botisimo, already used by some of the most recognizable names in gaming and entertainment, is a SaaS platform enabling content creators to better grow audience and monetization efforts. The fully supported, cross-platform tool makes it easy to streamline work and enables advertisers the opportunity to better connect to the cord-cutting and cord-never audience.
Content creators use Botisimo to help power:
- Multi-platform content distribution and management
- Promotional campaigns and scheduling
- Access to analytics and stream data leading to richer audience insights
- Chat engagement features including prompts, polls, and giveaways
- Sponsored partner integrations
After launching in late 2020, Botisimo grew significantly and, most recently, reported its tools engaging with more than 36 million unique monthly viewers. The technology is platform-agnostic and works across Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, Discord, Trovo, and more. Other early investors in Botisimo included Mason Bridge, a Dallas-based investment and entrepreneurship firm with experience scaling software-driven businesses. Terms of OpTic’s acquisition were not disclosed.
“Joining a future-forward and industry leading group in OpTic – a team that knows gaming, audience development and entertainment inside and out – is a natural next step for Botisimo,” said Oscar Armstrong, founder of Botisimo. Armstrong will join OpTic as Executive Vice President, Technology.
“We know that gaming and esports content make up a huge percentage of consumed live-streaming content and look forward to adding more and more of the industry’s biggest personalities and popular teams as users that trust Botisimo as their livestream technology partner.”
